was born in Mumbai, India where she did most of her schooling. From an early age, she had a keen interest in architectural drawings which she used to look at with her father. After schooling in Mumbai, she moved to Cambridge, UK to finish her Upper 6th form majoring in Art, Photography and Math at Cambridge Arts and Sciences (CATS). She went on to pursue an undergraduate degree at Oxford Brookes University in the UK and received a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture Honors degree. While in the UK, she travelled extensively through Europe and also attended a semester at the Bauhaus Universitat in Weimar, Germany. Europe has had a huge cultural impact on Amarja, in terms of people, food, culture and most importantly getting along with people from all walks of life. After Europe, Amarja briefly interned with Nitin Killawala Architects in Mumbai before moving to Los Angeles to attend Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). Here she received a Master of Architecture degree and met her husband Chris.
After graduating from SCI-Arc, she practised at Culver Architects in Los Angeles and later at Shubin and Donaldson Architects, where she worked on a range of residential and commercial projects before creating Archrysalis Architecture and Interior Design
with husband Christopher Webb.
She practised with Archrysalis in Los Angeles and Mumbai for several years before moving to Charlotte, North Carolina.
After almost 2 decades of being an architect, Amarja added to her skill set and got licensed as a Real Estate Broker in NC and SC. As a people person, she quickly learned the trade and recieved excellent training and leadership from Allen Tate South Park.
Amarja and Chris have continued their architectural practice in Charlotte and have also branched into development of real estate. Amarja uses her design, construction knowledge and negotiation skills to her client’s advantage. Her long history in the construction and development field has given her a good understanding of how real estate works.
Amarja is passionate about animals and the environment and supports animal rescue organizations. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Dilworth Southend
and actively participates in its many projects. Amarja’s charity work began from a young age and has continued through her life along with her parents.
Amarja loves playing with her 2 children and her current hobbies include singing, playing the ukulele and Pickleball
